Chinedu (How we met)
We met on the 25th of January 2006. I was on my way to Aba from Warri and she sat next to me with a sad look on her face. Well, although unusual of me, I decided to chat her up to make her feel better or at least get her to smile…and yes, I was able to.
I alighted just before her and asked for her mobile number so I could call to check up on her but she refused. Instead, she collected mine and promised to call which she did the next day. From then on we kept in touch.
She almost called it off because I was no longer consistent…she just wanted to let me go in case I wasn’t interested anymore. I pleaded with her, besides the distance was also getting to me as I hadn’t seen her for almost a year.
We weren’t certain as to where it would end up but as we built the friendship and relationship it transformed into companionship. Joy is a wonderful person whom you can’t help but like because she is warm and cheerful. She has a good heart.
She is very understanding, submissive and respectful. She is also very supportive, caring and she loves with her whole being. She is also a good cook and someone I can liken to my mum with great homely qualities.
With the help of his friend on Val’s day, he gave me a cake (I had my eyes closed for this one). On opening my eyes and the cake box, I saw a ring inside. He removed the ring from the cake and knelt down asking me to marry him. What do you expect? Of course I said YES.
My advice to future brides: Brides, always follow your heart no matter what your friends say. Always be yourself and ultimately cultivate a good character and attitude. You should also read what my hubby said about me! lol
